Meet Dr. John

Dr. John Lindstrom grew up in Bettendorf, IA. As a child, he always enjoyed the outdoors and being active. Growing up he participated in football and basketball throughout high school and was a two-time all-state selection for basketball. He later went on to play college basketball at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA.

While at St. Ambrose Dr. John followed his interests and received his B.S. degree, majoring in Exercise Science. Through his degree, he was able to gain a better understanding of the human body and also designed exercise plans to prevent injuries, diet plans to reach individual health goals, and developing rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from injuries.

After graduating from St. Ambrose, Dr. John went on to Palmer College to pursue his Doctorate in Chiropractic. While at Palmer, Dr. John was an intern in the Palmer rehabilitation department and was a member of the Palmer golf team.

Dr. John enjoys helping other people reach their potential. “I chose chiropractic because it’s a field where I could work with a wide variety of wonderful people and provide them the help they need. I felt that chiropractic was a profession that would enable me to make a difference and help people live a pain-free and active life.”

How Dr. John Practices Chiropractic

Chiropractic and how it is practiced can vary from one practice to another. This can lead to difficulty from the patient's perspective in knowing if each practice is the right fit for you and your needs. Below is a summary of how Dr. John practices and what to expect if you come into Core Chiropractic to be seen as a patient.

What a typical visit at Core Chiropractic looks like:

A typical visit at Core would involve a standard consult to listen to you as the patient about your health concerns. If it's something that Dr. John feels he can help you with, the visit would then proceed into an exam of the area of complaint you have. This involves the patient performing basic ranges of motion to assess overall mobility and specific orthopedic tests to get a more in depth persepective to narrow in on the root cause of the issue. After this evaluation, Dr. John will go over your exam results with you immediately after the exam, as well as give his care recommendations. If the area is safe to treat, Dr. John will adjust and treat you on your first visit.

There are a few things that Dr. John does NOT do at his practice:

  • High-pressure sales or requiring a high financial commitment before starting care
  • Avoid giving treatment on the first visit
  • Lengthy treatment plans (most treatment recommendations range from a single visit to 12 visits, depending on the condition and severity)

What sets Dr. John apart from other chiropractors:

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science: Dr. John has extensive knowledge of what at-home exercises are best to speed up your individual results.
  • Ability to use a combination of other therapies on top of adjustments: Not all spine complaints are strictly from the spine; oftentimes, there is a muscle component as well. By adressing both issues by combining adjusting with soft tissue therapies or rehab exercises, we can address the full spectrum of your issue.
  • Regenerative Therapies: On top of traditional care, Dr. John offers Stemwave Therapy, a form of shockwave therapy that can stimulate your own body's stem cells. This treatment leads to incredible results in treating stubborn chronic injuries, from chronic knee and shoulder pain to plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow.

Down-to-earth care. Results that speak for themselves.
